MOSCOW. Nov 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The command of the Georgian battalion within the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in South Ossetia reported to the forces' command on Friday that the battalion's planned rotation is over.
"The 500 servicemen of the Georgian battalion have been replaced. The peacekeepers whose term of service in the conflict zone expired have left for their units' permanent stationing areas," Erdni Natyrov, official of the forces' press service, told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The next rotation of Georgian peacekeepers will take place in three months, Natyrov said.
"A muster of the Georgian battalion's personnel and hardware will take place in a few days to make sure that they are ready for discharging their duties at posts and pickets," he noted.
The rotation took two days.
