Russian Air Force chief to discuss CIS Air Defense development in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan

MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Air Force Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Mikhailov left for Central Asia on Monday to discuss the CIS Unified Air Defense System development.

Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky, head of the Air Force press-service, told Interfax-Military News Agency that within the next three days the commander-in-chief would visit Russian Air Force units, deployed in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as meet with the Tajik and Kyrgyz defense ministers. The major items on the agenda of the meetings deal with the CIS Unified Air Defense System development.

Mikhailov is escorted by a group of senior and general officers from the Russian Air Force Staff.
