KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Vladimir Litvin, Chairman of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, has refuted information that Russian Special Forces units arrived in Ukraine.
"This is nonsense," he told reporters on Tuesday, adding that he had spoken to special forces and law-enforcement authorities, who had refuted this information.
He called on the reporters not to spread rumors, which could result in a public reaction beyond anyone's control.
He also noted that Ukrainian law-enforcement agencies had sufficient own forces to provide law and order in the streets.
The Russian Interior Ministry Forces General Staff also refuted mass media reports that Russian Interior Ministry Forces units had been deployed in Ukraine.
"There is no Russian Interior Ministry Forces soldiers outside Russia," Colonel Vasily Panchenkov, head of the Russian Interior Ministry Forces press-service, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.
