CIS defense ministers to meet in Moscow Thursday

MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The CIS Defense Ministers Council will hold a session in Moscow on Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.

The session will be chaired by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, a press service official said. "Participants in the session will sum up results of activity of the Defense Ministers Council's working bodies in 2004 and approve the work plan for 2005," he said.

In addition, the session will address a series of issues pertaining to military cooperation and arms trade among CIS nations, the official noted.

"In particular, a pattern concept of CIS servicemen's upbringing will be approved, and organizational and HR issues will be discussed," he said.
