Russian, Venezuelan defense ministers discuss arms trade in Moscow

MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov and his Venezuelan counterpart Jorge Garcia Carneiro discussed military cooperation and arms trade in Moscow on Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Carneiro arrived in Moscow as a member of the governmental delegation led by President Hugo Chavez Frias.

A competent source in the Russian defense industry earlier told Interfax-AVN that Russia may supply MI-35 Hind fire support helicopters (an export-oriented variety of the MI-24) and MIG-29S Fulcrum fighters to Venezuela.
