KRASNOYARSK. Dec 3 (Interfax-AVN) - The Reshetnev Research and Production Association of Applied Mechanics based in Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk region, is demonstrating its state-of-the-art spacecraft at the Siberian Aerospace Show 2004.
For instance, it presented a scaled mock-up of the Express-AT communications satellite, Project Manager Yevgeny Korchagin told Interfax-Military News Agency Friday.
According of him, the satellite is being developed cooperatively with France's Alcatel Espase.
"The satellite will be utilized for providing interactive television and radio services over 60 canals," Korchagin said.
He added that the Express-AM satellite is also at the exposition of the association in Krasnoyarsk.
"These are the most powerful Russian spacecraft of the type, intended to renew the Russian space group. They cover the areas of some foreign countries, too," he said.
Reshetnev is a Russian enterprise boasting the capability of ensuring the overall cycle of spacecraft production, starting from research and development to manufacturing, launching and follow-on. For the 45 years in operation, the association has developed and launched to the near-Earth orbit in excess of 1,100 Russian spacecraft.
As of now, the association is developing satellites with service lives extended to 10 and more years.
