MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and Turkey are expected to sign three documents regulating military-technical cooperation between the two countries during President Vladimir Putin's upcoming visit to that country, Turkish Ambassador to Russia Kurtulus Taskent told Interfax.
These are agreements on the prevention of incidents outside the two countries' territorial waters, on mutual protection of classified information the two countries share, and on protection of intellectual and industrial property materials and rights, Taskent said.
The ambassador pointed out that Turkey bought armored vehicles, helicopters, and other military hardware and weapons from Russia in the 1990s. "Both countries wish to continue to develop thee ties, but certain difficulties arise because of differences in standards, since Turkey is a NATO member," the diplomat said.
However, "Ankara and Moscow are working to overcome these difficulties," he said.
