ANKARA. Dec 6 (Interfax-AVN) - President Vladimir Putin said that the volume of Russia's arms sales to foreign nations may exceed $5 billion in 2004.
"As a minimum, we will reach last year's level - about $5 billion - in 2004. But we will most likely exceed this figure," Putin told Russian journalists on Monday.
Russia is now supplying its weapons and military technologies to a larger number of countries, the president said.
"We are expanding our presence in the Asian region, including Southeast Asia. We are engaged in successful talks on returning to Latin America's markets. Contacts with European partners to supply new products and repair previously delivered hardware are continuing," Putin said.
"I am satisfied with the way Russia's military-technical cooperation with foreign nations is expanding from the point of view of both its geography and volumes," the president said.
