ST.PETERSBURG. Dec 8 (Interfax-AVN) - The Northwestern regional border guard directorate of the Federal Security Service detained 12 border trespassers and 103 violators of border crossing rules in November, a spokesman for the directorate headquarters said on Wednesday.
"Contraband worth a total of nearly 1.2 million Russian rubles ($42,910) was seized from violators. Detainees were fined for over 57,100 rubles ($2,040) for administrative violations," the spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency.
According to the headquarters, over 1.07 million people and over 410,000 vehicles crossed the border section controlled by the department in November.
