Design, technical documentation for MIG-110 aircraft to be developed by late 2005

MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian MIG Aircraft-Building Corporation plans to develop design and technical documentation for the MIG-110 convertible aircraft by late 2005, MIG Chief Designer Lev Shengelaya told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.

"Despite the reshuffling in the MIG authorities, the MIG-110 development continues at the same pace. This project is included in all existing and future plans of the corporation," he said.

"The first MIG-110 prototype is expected to make its maiden flight in early 2007," Shengelaya said.

He noted that the aircraft was likely to be powered by the mass production TV7-117SM engines, designed by the Klimov Plant, which are being flight tested on the IL-114 aircraft.

As far as avionics are concerned, the flight and navigation system, mounted on the AN-148, is considered to be one of the main contenders.
