New director general of Mil helicopter plant gets down to duties

MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Andrei Shibitov, the new director general of the Moscow-based Mil helicopter plant, has got down to his duties, a spokesman for the Oboronprom industrial corporation told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

"Shibitov was elected director general of the enterprise at the emergency meeting of the plant's shareholders on December 1. His candidacy was supported by all shareholders of the plant and by leaders of mass-production helicopter plants. Shibitov succeeded Yury Andrianov as the plant's director general. The transfer of duties took place in the framework of current regulations and law," the spokesman said.

Shibitov was born in 1961. He graduated from the Kharkiv aviation institute. From 1988, he worked at the Rostvertol open joint-stock company, holding the positions of design engineer, deputy chief designer, director of the Special Helicopter Programs engineering company, director of the foreign economic activity service, and deputy director general for marketing and exports.

The Mil helicopter plant is among the world's leading helicopter building enterprises. The state owns 31 percent of shares in the plant, while the rest are divided among individuals and legal entities. The federal package of shares in the plant is being included in the authorized capital of the Oboronprom corporation.
