MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian State Duma's CIS Affairs Committee recommended at a meeting on Thursday that the Duma ratify two agreements on security problems in Central Asia.
"The committee recommended that the State Duma ratify the agreement with Kazakhstan on joint planning of forces employment in the interests of joint security of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as the agreement with Kyrgyzstan on cooperation in the field of security," committee chairman Andrei Kokoshin told Interfax-Military News Agency.
He also noted that ratification of the two agreements would be of considerable importance to providing stability and security in Central Asia, including the collective security within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
