MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian and French foreign and defense ministers plan to discuss ways to jointly combat terrorism, as well as international organizations' cooperation in the security sphere on Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the fourth meeting of the Russian-French Council for Security Cooperation.
"We'll discuss the issues entered on the agenda on the instruction of our presidents, including the strategic problems of the struggle against terrorism, and cooperation in the UN and the G8, and within the framework of the Russia-NATO and Russia-European Union programs," he said.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, having greeted French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier and Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie, said that Russia is prepared "to discuss military-technical cooperation between Russia and France, the two countries' interaction in international organizations, and approaches to the settlement of global and regional security problems."
