CHITA. Jan 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Colonel General Nikolai Makarov, commander of the Siberian military district, has made a planned working trip to the district's units stationed in the Novosibirsk region, the district's press service reported on Monday.
Press service chief Colonel Valery Shcheblanin told Interfax-Military News Agency that Makarov "controlled many aspects of the troops' routine activity, paying special attention to accomplishment of missions assigned in the framework of preparations for active development and accommodation of several military compounds. Also controlled were comprehensive reconstruction and repair activities scheduled for this year."
Makarov held a working meeting with Anatoly Kvashnin, presidential envoy to the Siberian federal district. The two men addressed issues related to army development and troops training.
