MOSCOW. Jan 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Yabloko party is picketing the building of the Armed Forces' General Staff in downtown Moscow to protest the drafting of students into the army.
About 50-70 Yabloko supporters, representatives of the Union of Right Forces, human rights activists, and students gathered outside the General Staff building on Tuesday.
"We urge the defense minister to immediately cancel conscription and transfer the army to a contractual basis," Yabloko's Moscow youth department leader Ilya Yashin told the gathering.
