BAKU. Jan 27 (Interfax-AVN) - An Azerbaijani serviceman was killed by Armenian gunfire in Azerbaijan's Agdam district, which is partially occupied by Armenia, a source in the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry press service told Interfax on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, the source said.
The serviceman, born in 1986, was drafted last year, the source said.
Azerbaijan lost control of Nagorno-Karabakh in a bloody war with Armenia in the 1990s. Armenia and Azerbaijan are still in a state of conflict, which the OSCE Minsk Group is trying to settle. The group is made up of representatives of the United States, Russia and France.
