Organizers of Security Technologies exhibition in Moscow say interest of specialists and visitors increased

MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax-AVN) - The Security Technologies 2005 international exhibition that closed Friday was visited by over 26,000 people, Elena Sorokina, the forum's press secretary, told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"The organizers planned that at least 26,000 visitors will come during the four days of the exhibition, but there were many more of them," she said.

According to her, the number exceeded 12,000 already on the second day of the forum, which is an absolute record of attendance for similar exhibitions in Europe.

She added that the participants in the exhibition included over 560 Russian and foreign firms developing and manufacturing assets for combating terrorism. "Also, 44 business meetings and seven international conferences were held," she said.

The exhibition was organized in Moscow for the tenth time. The area of the forum increased more than six times, while the number of participants five times during this period, and the total of over 200 conferences and seminars were organized under the aegis of the forum.

The exhibition was open in Moscow Tuesday through to Friday. A total exhibition area of 30,000 square meters saw the demonstration of technical security systems, data protection systems, fire alarms, banking and industrial protection and security systems and labor protection systems of manufacturers from 30 countries of the world. Also, a Russian-U.S. conference was held in the framework of the forum on Tuesday, titled "Russia-U.S.: Anti-Terrorism Experience.
