Fradkov accepts responsibility for flaws in benefits law

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov blamed himself and his government for flaws in preparing and enforcing the law that replaces social benefits with monetary compensation.

"The government bears the entire responsibility for organizing and enforcing this reform," Fradkov told the State Duma on Wednesday.

"As prime minister, I'm not trying to shake off this responsibility," Fradkov said.

Government members who made errors while implementing the law will be brought to account, he said. "Those at fault will get what they deserve," Fradkov said.
