MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and Hungary on Wednesday signed an intergovernmental agreement on the production and repair of weapons and hardware, as well as spare parts under licenses of the former USSR.
The agreement was signed by Russian Prime Minster Mikhail Fradkov and Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany.
Director of the Russian Federal Service on Military-Technical Cooperation Mikhail Dmitriyev and the Hungarian Economics and Transportation Ministry's State Secretary Gyorgy Gilyan also signed the document.
"This is the first such agreement between Russia and countries of Central and Eastern Europe," Fradkov told reporters after the singing ceremony.
Gyurcsani said the agreement concerned, in particular, the Danube aircraft plant that carries out helicopter repair under former Soviet licenses.
