Automated design systems introduction at Proekt-Tekhnika enterprise reduces design documentation development four-fold

MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Introduction of automated design systems at the Proekt-Tekhnika Research and Production Enterprise has increased the efficiency of the design bureau and reduced the design documentation development, Sergei Kurmin, a Proekt-Tekhnika official, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

"It takes about 2,000 design documents to develop a single variable-volume body-container. It used to take us over half a year to develop design documentation, when we did it manually. Now that the design data and product service life control system has been introduced, the whole process takes a month and a half," Kurmin said.

According to him, automation systems allow data to be stored, standardized, and archived, and provide access to such data to all parties concerned.

"In addition to that, the number of hard-copy documents, and thus, the number of personnel has been reduced," Kurmin said.

According to him, two variable-volume body-containers, ordered by the Interior Ministry, were built on short notice due to the new system. The body-containers are equipped with life-support systems (air conditioning, heating, ventilation, lights), electric power supply board, control panels, and other equipment, required for their operation.

Proekt-Tekhnika specializes in developing special body-containers, including those for the Defense Ministry, the Interior Ministry, and the Emergencies Ministry.
