U.S.-trained Georgian military instructors start training future servicemen

TBILISI. Feb 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 40 Georgian military instructors who had been trained by U.S. specialists, started training applicants for contracted military service at the Krtsanisi training center of the Defense Ministry on Monday.

"The instructors are to train 600 applicants for contracted military service for a period of nine weeks," a Defense Ministry spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"The applicants were chosen on the basis of professional, physical and psychological tests," he stressed.

"The U.S. Department of Defense provided outfits for all participants in the training course," the spokesman said.

"Military contracts will be signed only with those who pass the training course successfully and take all necessary credits," he added.
