Guerilla detained in Dagestan

KHASAVYURT, Dagestan. March 2 (Interfax-South) - A man has been detained in Dagestan for his suspected role in a February 16 terrorist attack in Kizlyar, which killed three people.

The suspect, Magomed Saidbekov, was placed on the international wanted list, a Khasavyurt law enforcement source told Interfax on Wednesday.

The Dagestani Interior Ministry's press service confirmed Saidbekov's detention, adding that he faces charges of setting up an illegal armed group, banditry, illegal possession of weapons and other crimes.

Another guerilla, Adam Batalov, was detained in Khasavyurt on Tuesday on suspicion of taking part in hostilities against federal troops in Chechnya in 1999-2000, the press service said.
