GROZNY. March 4 (Interfax-AVN) - A militant suspected of involvement in an attack on Chechnya's Sunzhenskaya district police department was killed in a sweep operation in the Achkhoi-Martan district when he opened fire on policemen, the republic's Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov told Interfax on Friday.
"The guerillas opened fire on police units trying to detain them. One of the militants was killed in the shootout. Seven people suspected of a role in these events were detained," Alkhanov said.
